A day discovering independent wine producers
Saturday 10 May 2025 sees the return of the eagerly awaited ‘Sabato del Vignaiolo’, a special event organised by the Italian Federation of Independent Wine Producers (FIVI), which each year opens the doors of hundreds of independent wineries scattered throughout the Italian peninsula. It is a unique opportunity for wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs, but also for those approaching the world of wine for the first time, to get to know first-hand the people who work daily in the vineyards and cellars, transforming their passion and dedication into authentic wines that reflect the terroir and local traditions.
Authentic experiences amongst the vineyards and in the cellars
To mark Winemaker’s Saturday, producers invite visitors into their cellars to share the work, philosophy and passion that characterise their business. Throughout the day, visitors can take part in guided tastings led directly by the winemakers, stroll through the vineyard rows accompanied by the producers who will recount the history of their vineyards, and visit the cellars to understand all the stages involved in transforming grapes into wine. It will also be an opportunity to have an open conversation with the producers, hear anecdotes and interesting facts about life in the vineyard, and discover the great variety and diversity that characterise Italy’s wine heritage.
